Dr. Mohamad Mtairek is an entrepreneur, investor, and professor of Business Administration with a passion for education and business development. He holds a doctoral degree in Business Administration, an MBA in Strategic Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. As the founder of five Middle Eastern cuisine restaurants under the name Shish Kabob Express, Dr. Mtairek transformed academic insight into real-world business success.
His doctoral studies focused on the failure of small restaurant businesses and addressed a critical gap in hospitality industry literature, particularly regarding limited-service restaurants. He explored how leadership style impacts profitability and organizational performance using data from small restaurants in Michigan.
Beyond academia and entrepreneurship, Dr. Mtairek is a dedicated consultant advising business and educational clients. He is the founder of Proactive Management Consulting Group, a platform offering strategic business and educational consulting services. He is also affiliated with the International Association of Professions Career College and the International Leadership Association, and actively participates in professional and economic events across Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland Counties.
Known for his supportive leadership and mentoring approach, he encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to launch and grow their own ventures. His international background—shaped by life in the Middle East, Ivory Coast, Canada, and the United States—gives him a rich cultural perspective that enhances his work with diverse teams. Dr. Mtairek firmly believes that education is the greatest lifetime investment and continues to coach, consult, and inspire in the restaurant and business sectors.
